In anticipation of the release of the "Sopranos" boxed set, HBO engaged in a far-reaching advertising campaign focusing on the cultural effect of this incredibly popular show. Just as its characters, stories and verbal expressions (and vulgarities) are a fixture on American television, this marketing effort rallied around its pervasive nature in the viewers’ lives.

In collaboration with Venables, Bell and Partners, the result is a visually minimalist ad that takes this effect far over the top, making a statement that stands as a spoof (or possibly an indicator) of the show’s effect.
